We want to do great things; we need your help As our new Senior Civil Engineer, you’ll offer leadership and oversight on a number of large, ongoing track and transportation projects. We are currently engaged in exciting, transformative projects in the GTA with major clients including Metrolinx and the TTC. Your work will contribute directly to the success of these, and other projects. Your role will be equal parts project management, client relations, and technical expertise. As our Senior engineer, you’ll provide guidance and expertise to a small engineering team (2-3 people) that will be substantially responsible for the design process. When you’re not engaged in technical review and evaluation of designs, you’ll be a main point of for our clients. This will include managing expectations, building our business, and representing our company. You’ll also liaise with other contractors and keep them informed on progress and setbacks. Building strong business relationships based on trust and mutual benefit will be critical. Your tasks will include: * Maintain regular with clients and attend meetings * Provide technical expertise to clients and team members * Participate in some areas of the design process * Prepare, monitor, and forecast budget/cost/project schedules * Prepare and monitor scope of work and methodologies * Monitor project progress and participate in milestone meetings * Project management, including scheduling, status reports, etc. * Manage with subtrades, and provide technical expertise, advice, and oversight * Coordinate with various stakeholders and provide updates as necessary * Draft/modify/update proposals, prepare and deliver presentations/proposals Working with Gannett Fleming With 40 offices across North America, and a team comprised of 2500 employees globally, Gannett Fleming has a far-reaching impact in the industry. During peak activity, there will be some overtime required, and meeting with clients will not strictly happen 9-5. We have offices all over the world, and while you won’t be required to travel, there will be opportunities to collaborate with our other teams, including our new office in Vancouver. Qualifications * Degree/college program in civil engineering * Professional designation (P. Eng.) * 10+ years’ experience in transportation/transit planning/design/operation * In-depth understanding of design processes and operations modeling * Experience with large scale transportation/transit projects * High proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D * Proficiency with Microstation, InRoads, InRail, Stormwater Management, and MS Office * Proficient in site grading, utility and drainage design * Experience in site development * Experience leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers * Experience drafting and presenting proposals on new projects * Experience in business development and generating business leads * Experience building project teams and managing project staffing How to Apply submit your application online, via the Fitzii platform.
